- Description
- We are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee our production operations. You will ensure that all aspects of manufacturing are carried out in accordance with H&S requirements and to the highest possible quality standards. You will guarantee that manufacturing remains a smooth and efficient process by monitoring employees and organising workflows. You will also have the ability to recognise manufacturing inefficiencies and have the courage to drive change.
Roles & Responsibilities- Work with the Production Planner to set daily/weekly/monthly production requirements and delegate work to your teams to ensure optimal efficiency
- Manage the efforts of manufacturing workers on the production floor to ensure quality standards are always met
- Regularly communicate expectations to production workers and carry out annual performance appraisals
- Educate production team members about preferred occupational health and safety practices and lead by example
- Check manufacturing equipment and control points to ensure quality standards and efficient workflow are maintained
- Address production problems as they arise
- Organise for the repair or replacement of faulty production equipment
- In partnership with the Engineering department evaluate new production equipment policies and procedures
- Report on departmental performance (KPIs) to Head of Operations and leadership team
- Make recommendations about ways to improve employee/process efficiency, improve quality and reduce costs
- Recruit, hire, and co-ordinate the training of new production workers
- Counsel and discipline production employees who fail to perform or violate company policies
- Implement recommended manufacturing cost reduction strategies
- Nurture cooperation and communication within the production team and other departments
Skills required- Proven team leader with excellent delegation and negotiation skills
- Experience leading/managing a production/warehouse team
- Excellent written and Oral Communication Skills
