- Job Overview:
Reporting to and working closely with the MD, the role is to be responsible for the preparation of Monthly Management and annual Financial Accounts on a timely basis to ensure the management team have accurate and reliable information on which to base decisions; variance analysis is therefore critical. Proven skills in a fast-moving, products-based business with cash and balance sheet management and reconciliation. An ability to manage the processing and analysis of large numbers of business transactions will be required together with leadership and drive to maintain and improve strong financial and cash disciplines. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the senior management team.
Responsibilities and Duties:- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Preparing and maintaining rolling cashflow.
- Overall control of store cash takings including petty cash expenditure.
- Monthly Bank reconciliation.
- Preparing and submitting monthly payroll
- Posting and reconciliation of daily credit card intake.
- Overseeing Weekly Credit Control from Customers
- Preparing weekly supplier payment run for MD
- Processing monthly Company credit card/cash expenses
- Annual statutory accounts preparation and liaison with company accountants.
- Production & submission of Quarterly VAT return to HMRC
- Maintaining Fixed Asset Register and depreciation/disposals
- Overseeing daily bank reconciliations
- Maintaining & updating fixed asset records
- Control of bought and sales ledgers, cashflow, creditors, debtors and payroll
- Production of budgets and forecasts
- Reviewing mobile and landline telephone contracts
- Reviewing annual office/car insurances and utility contracts as required
Qualifications:- Part or fully qualified with at least 3 years practical experience in commerce
- Strong Excel modelling and data management skills especially Pivot Tables
- Familiar with Xero Accounts Package
- Familiar with MyPAYE or similar payroll package
- Proven financial and commercial acumen
- Confidence to challenge the existing way of doing things
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to prioritise short, medium and long-term plans to ensure objectives are met
- A flexible, results-focused approach to work combined with a keen eye for detail and always meeting significant deadlines
