Description

We are looking for a quick-thinking, methodical, Engineer to join the team in a product repair role. The ideal candidate will preferably have an excellent knowledge of Electro-Mechanical systems and track record in a technical service, repair or Engineering role. They will be a keen problem solver with a focus on detail and clear documentation.
The applicant will be working within the service and repair team in the Production Environment. They will be required to regularly communicate interact with various departments within the business including Production, Customer Service and R&D. There will be a significant emphasis on timely repair of equipment, as well as performing root cause analysis and producing detailed customer facing repair reports. Fault analysis will need to be clearly communicated to key stakeholders within the business to support continual product and process improvement.
The role will be reporting to the Production Manager.

Key Accountabilities

  • This is a demanding, yet exciting role in a growing business, in which you can make a very large impact. The role also offers a good scope for personal growth and development.
  • Initial diagnostics of incoming radar for repair including standard inspection testing and fault repetition
  • Root cause analysis of fault with categorisation
  • Repair of radar within agreed timescales based on customer service levels
  • Testing (incoming, investigative, post repair)
  • Maintaining clear investigation documentation with evidence on the ERP system
  • Producing customer facing repair reports
  • Service and maintenance activities
  • Supporting improvements to the design
  • Coordinate and prioritise repairs in conjunction with customer service team


Competencies

  • An energetic individual who is used to consistently delivering quality work under pressure and a meticulous approach to quality.
  • You must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with people at all levels within the business.
  • You must have appropriate technical qualifications or equivalent experience in Electronics,
  • Mechanics or Production Engineering. Experience in a low volume, high value manufacturing environment is highly valued.
  • Leadership skills and experience of 8D Problem solving is an advantage.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience in an Engineering/Science/Maths subject with good level of electronics/electro-mechanical knowledge
  • Excellent IT skills including: Word, Excel, Windows
  • Valid UK driving license
  • Valid British or EU Passport or residence
